Born to illiterate peasants, Aisling Juanjuan Shen was the first in her village to go to college. Assigned to a low-paying government job, she left for southern China to find success. Her story embodies the changes in China in recent decades.
About the Author
Aisling Juanjuan Shen immigrated to the United States in 2000. In 2005, she graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College. She currently works for an investment management firm in Boston.
