The California Writers Club dates back to the turn of the last century literary movement in the San Francisco bay area, and is now more than 100 years old. The Marin branch of the California Writers Club was chartered in 1999, and celebrates 13 years with Book Passage.

CWC Marin meets monthly at Book Passage, except July, August and December, on the 4th Sunday of each month, unless otherwise noted, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Meetings may feature guest speakers, a workshop, or a panel discussion along with networking, encouragement, and writing news. All are welcome!

In 2003, CWC received a California Legislative Resolution declaring the third week of October as “California Writers Week.” Our Marin branch was chartered with CWC in 1999 and celebrates eleven years with CWC and with Book Passage.

In 2009, the centennial of CWC, Marin branch and Book Passage hosted “We Know They Can Write But Can They Sing?” – a gala event featuring Kathi Kamen Goldmark, Sam Barry, Peter Beren, Tony Broadbent, David Corbett, Katherine Cowles, Patricia Volonakis Davis, Tanya Egan Gibson, Deborah Grabien, David Harris, Seth Harwood, Ivory Madison, Gil Mansergh, Janis Cooke Newman, Brenda Novak, Susanne Pari, Andy Ross, Kemble Scott, Sheldon Siegel, Ransom Stephens and Wendy Nelson Tokunaga. Read more about CWC's centennial celebration.
