Success Stories "You
were very helpful and encouraging to me both during and after the 2009
Children's Writers & Illustrators Conference. I connected with a
wonderful illustrator—Ji Young Lee—who also attended the conference, and we published a picture book of one of my stories, Marcie's Daffodil. It came out from Xlibris in December of 2010, and has been enthusiastically received wherever people have seen it. Read more conference success stories at Alumni News.

What People Are Saying "Got me motivated! Helped me connect with local children’s writers. I just fell in love with Book Passage – and your commitment and devotion to writers and readers. Thank you!" – Allison Fragakis "The whole conference was wonderful; well-planned and well-executed. A wonderful assemblage of writers, illustrators, agents, editors, publishers we would never otherwise have the chance to meet, under one roof." – Nancy Coopersmith "I learned all the
basics and then some. I’m totally inspired, feel more confident about
submitting my manuscript to a publisher now." – Gailya Magdalena "Of the many professional events/conferences I’ve attended, Book Passage staff is by far the best. A perfect mix of professional and personable." – Christine Nizibian

Join us for the 6th Annual Book Passage Children’s Writers
& Illustrators Conference. The Conference will cover all
aspects of writing and illustrating for children—from developing ideas
to honing skills to finding a publisher. Participants will work closely with
other writers and illustrators, as well as with agents, editors, and
publishers. The conference is designed to meet the differing needs of
those who create for different age groups. Participants will choose an area
of emphasis for the morning sessions, such as writing for picture
books, early readers, young adult books or illustration, and then work
with a teacher in a workshop setting. In the afternoon, participants choose
from panels of common interest, such as working with editors, working
with agents, marketing and promotion. There will be many opportunities
for faculty and participants to talk, laugh, and exchange ideas in classes,
lunches, and at evening events.
