Bay-area based journalist Nathanael Johnson discusses All Natural: A Skeptic's Quest for Health and Happiness in an Age of Ecological Anxiety ($25.99). Johnson explores the way we react to what he calls "our overall ecological anxiety" - how many of us are drawn to natural solutions and organic lifestyles while others rally around high-tech development and industrial efficiencies. He examines these phenomena through the personal lens of his own crunchy-granola upbringing. He expands the conversation by speaking with figures as varied as an outlawed midwife, radical doctors, renegade farmers and one hermit forester.

Nathanael Johnson is an award-winning journalist who has written features for Harper'sNew York, Outside, and San Francisco magazines and produced stories for National Public Radio and This American Life. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughter.

Michael Pollan is the author of six previous books, including Food Rules, and The Omnivore’s Dilemma. He is the recipient of the James Beard Award and is also the Knight Professor of Journalism at Berkeley. In 2010, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world. His most recent book, Cooked: Finding Ourselves in the Kitchen, will be published in April 2013.
