Pre-Conference Class: Don George - Travel Writing in Sonoma

Travel Writing in Sonoma:  
Join acclaimed National Geographic Traveler columnist and editor at large Don George, author of Lonely Planet's Guide to Travel Writing, for an inspiring day of exploration and travel writing in beautiful Sonoma. George demonstrates the art of finding, researching, and note-taking in the field. Participants will explore the shops and sites of this historic Wine Country town, sample some of the area's famed wines, and work on a travel writing exercise. Over lunch, the group will talk about the writing experience and discuss their work. Lunch and transportation included. 
 
Author of Travel Writing and the editor of eight anthologies, including Moveable Feast, The Kindness of Strangers, and most recently, Lonely Planet Travel Writing. George writes the monthly Trip Lit column for National Geographic Traveler and is Features Editor for Gadling.com. He also edits Geographic Expeditions’ online magazine, Recce: Literary Journeys for the Discerning Traveler.
