Description

The most notorious name in terror—the immortal EC Comics—proudly presents the next chapter of the runaway hit horror anthology! Courtesy of our ghoulishly gregarious host, the Grave-Digger, steady your nerves for another eye-searing dose of brazen bone-crunching and hilariously horrendous carnage!

Leading this tortuous tome's tales of tension and torment, we welcome finely fiendish writers Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets), Christopher Cantwell (Out of Alcatraz), Michael W. Conrad (Wonder Woman), Greg Pak (World War Hulk), Stephanie Phillips (Harley Quinn), and Curt Pires (Lost Fantasy), alongside maniacal artists Valeria Burzo (Shiver SuspenStories), Peter Krause (The Power of Shazam!), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), Brian Level (Poison Ivy), Dan McDaid (DEGA), Christopher Mitten (Autumn Kingdom), Alison Sampson (Department of Truth), and more, to join the legions of the damned who wander the endless abyss. . . . Come and join them—there’s always room to spare!

The New York Times bestselling author's other work for DC Comics includes the titles Hellblazer and Loveless (both with Marcelo Frusin), Superman: For Tomorrow (with Jim Lee), Joker, Luthor, and Rorschach (with Lee Bermejo), Comedian (with J.G. Jones), Sgt. Rock: Between Hell and a Hard Place (with Joe Kubert), and most recently the ongoing Wonder Woman series (with Cliff Chiang).

Praise for EC Epitaphs from the Abyss Vol. 3

“EC Comics’ horror relaunch is doing reboots right… So much of reboot culture ends up feeling like a hollow shell of the thing it wants to recapture. With the EC Comics horror relaunch, the head creatives behind these comics have tapped into the right way to approach a new take on an old idea… Though their titles like Cruel Universe and Cruel Kingdom are spiritual successors to old EC titles like Weird Science and Weird Fantasy, this new era is allowed to forge its own distinct identity… Anthology horror is my favorite genre in all of fiction and it’s refreshing to see the EC Comics horror spirit alive again without having to reanimate the corpses of the past. I wish more reboots could put together a dish like these comics instead of the reheated leftovers we get.”
— Giant Freaking Robot

"True to the EC vibe with art and stories that recall the masters.”
